Dr. Bendt Petersen is an orthopaedic and neurospine surgical specialist with twenty plus years in operative clinical practice. He was graduated from the University of Alabama with degrees in Biochemistry and Biology and the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UAB) with AOA honors.
After medical school graduation in 1990, Dr. Petersen served in the US Army as a combat aviation brigade flight surgeon and with NASA in support of flight shuttle missions.
Following military service, Dr. Petersen completed his academic training as the Daniel E. Hogan Fellow in orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine surgery at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Petersen’s Spinal Surgery sub-specializations are inclusive of microsurgical techniques, complex spinal revision and evaluation and repair of failed previous surgery. He serves additionally as clinical Adjunct Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery with the University of South Alabama.
His most proud accomplishments are his three now adult, independent and employed daughters.
