Dr. Barry R. Pecha, M.D., earned his medical degree at the University of Tennessee School of Medicine, and completed his residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He then finished his fellowship in urology at the University of Cincinnati. Certified by the American Board of Urology, Dr. Pecha has specialized in urinary bladder dysfunction for over a decade. He focuses on OAB, incontinence, and retention, with expertise in behavioral therapy and sacral neuromodulation (InterStim Therapy).

Dr. Barry R. Pecha, M.D., F.A.C.S., was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco. Dr. Pecha graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Medicine in 1992. He received his specialty training in urology from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He joined Metropolitan Urology in 1998 (now First Urology, PSC). Dr. Pecha is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Urological Association, Indiana State Medical Association, and Kentucky Medical Association.
Dr. Pecha has been in private practice since 1998 and has specialized in urinary bladder dysfunction for more than a decade, with emphasis in overactive bladder (urgency and frequency of urination known as OAB), bladder leakage, urinary incontinence and incomplete bladder emptying / urinary retention. He specializes in the treatment using behavioral therapy and placement of sacral neuromodulation known as InterStim Therapy – designed to improve symptoms of incontinence and retention
