I am giving a one star rating because of the lack of availability that Dr. Barrett has. I waited for over two months to see the doctor. I finally had my appointment, she did an exam and put some cushions that she made into my shoes. Unfortunately the cushions she made did not help relieve my pain. I called a week later to set up an appointment to receive cortisone shots. The receptionist returned my call and said that the soonest I could get an appointment to see her would be in two months! Unfortunately Dr.Barrett only works two days a week, Mondays and Fridays. When I called a week after my appointment on Friday she was not there. So apparently sometimes it less than two times a week. My complaint is not about her doctoring skills, it is the lack of availability. If I would have known her minimal availability, I would have chosen a different podiatrist.

One of the best doctors McBride has on staff!
Dr. Barbara Barrett practices conservative, office podiatry. Patients of all ages see Dr. Barrett for routine foot care, such as ingrown toenails, warts, heel pain, flat feet, high-arched feet, and orthotics. Dr. Barrett is also trained to diagnose infections of the foot and toenails, which often are related to other pre-existing medical conditions. She has a great appreciation for her patients and their individual needs. Dr. Barrett understands each patient is different – not everyone has the same financial resources or the ability to take time off if needed, so she makes every effort to provide an appropriate treatment plan for those in her care. For those who require advanced care/surgery, she refers to a foot and ankle specialist. Dr. Barrett grew up in Illinois loving science and school. Her upbringing had a significant impact on her desire to pursue medicine and help educate patients on healthy lifestyle practices. She is married to fellow McBride physician, Dr. James Barrett. They love spending time with their family and time with their pets.
