After graduation, she was employed at Duke University Medical Center as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) specialist for a short period before entering medical school at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Dr. Gilchrist also completed a residency in Pediatrics at Vidant Medical Center/The Brody School of Medicine.
Allergy and Immunology was nurtured while completing rotations with an engaging community allergist in Greenville, NC, and while completing a four-week rotation at USF in Tampa, Florida.
