Dr. B. Clay Dorenkamp, D.O. is compassionate about providing patient driven and patient specific care. It is Dr. Dorenkamp’s philosophy that motion is one of the keys to living a healthy life. This has directed Dr. Dorenkamp to devoting his career in medicine to orthopedic surgery with a focus in spine surgery. Fundamentally, orthopedics is centered around improving mobility in patients through treating musculoskeletal pathology. He furthers this by expanding his practice to spinal pathology.
Dr. Dorenkamp earned his medical degree at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at McLaren Greater Lansing, Lansing, Michigan. He then completed his fellowship at Center for Spine and Orthopedics. He is a board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. In his spine fellowship, Dr. Dorenkamp has trained extensively in both cervical and lumbar spinal decompression, spinal fusion, and trained with national leaders in motion preservation total disc replacements. He works with his patients to collaboratively address their pathology through both conservative and operative interventions.

Very knowledgeable
No complaints he's the best
Dr. Dorencamp surgically fused my spine with an ALIF in 2023, relieving years of pain for me. Wonderful, caring doc. He listens to his patient and makes appropriate suggestions and decisions.
Waited over an hour for some less than hospitable service. Not only was I way over the scheduled time, but when he came in he got my name wrong. Then after waiting over an hour he literally glanced at my MRI for 30 seconds and said there’s nothing he could do for me and he couldn’t see the issue. He didn’t even bother to look at the notes from the MRI that clearly stated I have multiple issues going on. I had face to face contact with him for less than five minutes before I was sitting in car hopeless and in pain.
He is one of the best doctor's i have encountered hole shows compansion and when I came there. at my worst he listened and took great care of me thank you!!

This was an incredibly positive experience it was my first interactions with Dr. Dorenkamp, and he was very personable, professionally accessible, and positive in his approach to my diagnosis/treatment process. I especially appreciated that he was an active listener during our interactions.
