Patient, empathetic, and kind. Dr. Chen and his staff carefully listened to my history and patiently answered my questions. They treated me with respect and kindness. Even though we aren't entirely sure of the source of my pain, I walked away from the appointment with clear next steps that will help us get to the bottom of it. It was clear that Dr. Chen doesn't jump immediately to "surgery is the answer," but wants to make absolutely sure that someone has truly exhausted all non-surgical options and if they have, that they are the right candidate for the surgery he performs. I can't begin to tell you how refreshing that is.

Typical non-holistic (maybe even deliberately so) orthopedist, who -- even when explicitly told, shown, demonstrated, and reminded that I am still in soft tissue knee and hamstring pain from 6 months ago, did not advise or inform me about any non-allopathic treatment (such as physical therapy, hydrotherapeutic, or deep massage). He's a 'good listener' who applies little that he learns from his patient(s) towards any other form of treatment other than his own, narrow, 20th Century learning. IF you absolutely require surgery, injections, or Rx meds, then he's probably your guy; but if you want to be genuinely healed, lose his phone number FAST!

Best Dr. ever!! Dr. Chen has made such a difference, wish I went to see him sooner. Great bedside manner and does not rush his appointments. He fully diagnosed my torn glute, prepared me for surgery and follow up has been great. I also want to mention Nell his assistant. So friendly and quick to respond to questions. Highly recommend Dr. Chen and his office!

Thanks Austin’s for the steroid injection! It seems to have already relieved much of my pain. And don’t be worried about the right hip BHR surgery. It worked out great! I’m able to do all the activities I want pain free with it. And I’ve got another hip that you’ll have a chance to get the acetabular cup position right the first time. I wouldn’t want anyone else to to install it.
