Dr Taylor was friendly, worked to take away any nerves and for sure knew what he was doing. He did a fine job removing scar tissue from both my eyes.

Dr. Austin B. Taylor joined Eye Physicians of Southwest Virginia, P.C. in January 2021. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a fellowship in glaucoma. Dr. Taylor grew up in Gate City, VA and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from The University of Virginia’s College at Wise. After receiving his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University-Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, he traveled to Miami to complete his residency at Larkin Community Hospital. With a heart for those suffering with glaucoma, Dr. Taylor continued his education at The University of Kentucky, gaining fellowship training in glaucoma.
Dr. Taylor is currently accepting patients in our Abingdon and Marion offices, offering glaucoma evaluation and treatment closer to home. Along with providing advanced treatments for glaucoma, Dr. Taylor also provides surgical treatment for cataracts, comprehensive eye exams and treatment for other ocular diseases. When not at the office, you will find Dr. Taylor spending time with his family or on the disc golf course.
