Dr. Austin T. Hardaway, M.D., is a fellowship-trained sports medicine orthopedic surgeon. He was born and raised in the Memphis area and graduated from Arlington High School. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Campbell Clinic during which time he helped take care of multiple high schools in the area and The Memphis Redbirds. He then completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Clinic in Birmingham.

During fellowship he served as one of the team physicians for The University of Alabama athletics including the football, basketball, and baseball teams. He gained experience taking care of athletes at all stages ranging from middle school to the professional level. He currently helps in taking care of multiple teams in Memphis including Memphis Redbirds Baseball, Rhodes College athletics, Bartlett High School, St. Mary’s Episcopal School, and Hutchison School.
He specializes in taking care of injuries to the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He has a special interest in treating shoulder and elbow injuries in throwing athletes including elbow UCL tears. Although well trained in sports injuries, he is experienced in treating chronic, non-athletic related conditions in all age groups such as rotator cuff tears, shoulder impingement, and degenerative knee meniscus tears.
I didn’t feel assured my concern was valid. He wasn’t concerned about the redressing of my incision and sent someone else to dress it. The dressing is done poorly by an attendant with no badge.
