Dr. Gilchrist, definitely deserve 5 stars. I was blessed to have one of the most compassionate, skilled, and dedicated doctor anyone could ask for. During one of the most challenging times in my life, he provided not only excellent medical care but also comfort, encouragement, and genuine kindness. He treated me with dignity, patience, and understanding, making sure I felt safe , and reminded me that I was not alone and I thank him for that. Dr. Gilchrist was born in Dothan, Alabama, and grew up frequenting Auburn for various sporting events with friends and family. He worked in the medical field as a patient care technician within the operating room before ultimately deciding to pursue a degree in medicine, specifically surgery. He then attended Auburn University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in biomedical sciences, before moving on to the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UAB), where he completed his medical school degree. Dr. Gilchrist then completed his general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he also completed a year of research, contributing to the fields of general surgery, pediatric surgery, and trauma.
His practice will focus on general surgery, including robotic and laparoscopic minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Gilchrist is looking forward to serving the Auburn and Opelika area and helping patients achieve a better quality of life.
