He is fantastic

I had neck pain, stiffness for over 10 yrs. Every yr got worse. I tried massages, physical therapy, steroid injections, ablations, stem cell, all kinds of pills, Finally after being tired & desperate I started looking for best dr I could find near me. I made appointment & Dr Patel was honest said there was no guarantee other than I would be in less pain. I still waited a year & finally talked myself into surgery. He did 3 fusions & removed 3 disks. I am 74 yrs old but I am finally feeling normal. I would say pain is 75% better but believing I will be 100% soon. Dr Patel gave me my life back. By the way he has an awesome team, Scott, Adam & Sara.

Awesome Doctor, very informative, gives great directions to patients and helps patients get better, does not push surgery. Worries about the patient and how they are doing. Geat group in the office

We waited 2 1/2 hrs to see Dr Pate. When he did come in he was very rushed, took a phone call from another doctor and was a couple times when he interrupted at least once. I just didn’t feel good about my visit with him at all. The only saving grace was Sara who explained everything so well.

We didn't get to see Dr but met with his PA who is also wonderful.

Dr. Patel was very thorough and explained my problem in detail to me. I am very impressed as well with his staff…very professional.

He was running behind so I felt rushed like he just wanted to get past me and to the next patient. This after waiting weeks to see him and review my MRI and X-rays. Went to him for a reason, unhappy with a previous surgery and his decision was to send me back to the surgeons I was already unhappy with. Not what I was looking for, I had told him that I didn’t want to go back to them!

Late seeing me. Poor attitude, as I I Little help help by surgery on Feb 6, 2017, but left with severe peripheral neuropathy, loss of balance & severe spinal displacement (mid back & neck bent forward) loss of all tlife's normal activities for both me & caregiving partner. Sorry, I expected more than rejection of my visit, after waiting 3 months for appointment!

Dr. Patel is a great physician and spent time explaining all the different medical issues to me and gave me a clear understanding of what my course of treatment would be I would highly recommend him to anyone with a bad condition.

Wait time not good

I was in terrible pain and waited to be seen for well over an hour. Once in a room, my treatment was excellent.

His compassion is exceeded by his skill in spinal surgery. It is a gift to be able to restore pain free living following stenosis and disc herniation. . I wouldn’t recommend anyone else if you need a neurosurgeon.

We waited way to long for the dr….. you need to look at spacing out appt so the wait isn’t as long….. our overall appt was 3 hr

I feel very comfortable with Dr Patel. My only concern is how rushed and distracted he is. He doesn’t always focus on the scans before deciding if or if there isn’t a problem. This is the second time that he discovered an abnormalities that are related to my clinical presentation. It is very concerning when it comes to deciding on the clinical plan. It erodes my confidence in him. When things are aren’t focused on.

Very dismissive, waited 2hours 20mins for a 3pm appointment. Ok, he was backed up, it happens, i can get passed that. Once I got in the room and he began the exam he told me I was crying too much... im sorry im in excrutiating pain. Finishes physical exam and dictates his notes, and i begin to start speaking he opens the door and walks out of the room! I said excuse me, he says what were done here. I said I have questions, he says but I just spent 45mins with you. No sir you spent 25.

Dr Patel is an excellent surgeon but communicating with him is not always easy. His brain is always moving 3 steps ahead of the last question he asked.

I waited two months to see Dr Patel because I have severe scoliosis and I wanted to discuss with him everything I was doing. I kept calling to see if he had any cancellations prior to my appointment and in the meantime got my xrays done and worked out with a PT. When I finally got there I was seen by his assistant and they referred me to Dr. Nguyen. They had to retake my xrays at the end of my appointment and they never actually saw them. Very upset and disappointed.

Appointments are ALWAYS One (1) to Two (2) HOURS BEHIND Schedule. Dr needs to take on LESS patients so his time management improves.

He is the absolute best. He did an anterior and posterior L5 S1 fusion with some additional work on L4 at SMH on Wed. 6/19. Went home Fri. 6/21 and am walking without the buttock and leg pain experienced pre surgery.
