As a Healthcare Attorney who bills hours, I felt like we were literally on a shot clock. This is difficult when you are trying to address healthcare issues involving a child. Attempts to talk were interrupted and it felt like she only wanted to spend 7 to 10 minutes with us. It seems like this is a non-specialized volume based practice and that her bedside manner, knowledge or comfort with children’s dermatological issues was non-existent. We left with a referral to MUSC, a cream, and no real answers or diagnosis.

My first visit here was disappointing. The dermatologist spent less than five minutes with me and didn’t take the time to ask many questions or give clear guidance about my skincare routine. I tried to show the products I was using, but I didn’t receive specific feedback for my skin type. I was also told multiple times about what I couldn’t get because of my insurance, which felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. The staff was supposed to take pictures of my skin, but that didn’t happen either. I left feeling rushed and unheard. I hope they can work on improving how they communicate with patients and provide more thorough, respectful care.
