Dr. Gami is FANTASTIC whenever I see him. However, when I come in for my EKG it would be nice to be called when you have overbooked patients so I didn’t have to sit in the office for 40 minutes for a 5 minute test!!!

Dr. Apoor Gami is an electrophysiologist at Midwest Cardiovascular Institute in Elmhurst.
Dr. Gami earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and American Literature from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He received his M.D. at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his internal medicine residency, cardiovascular disease fellowship, and cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. At the Mayo Clinic, he also received a Master of Science degree in Clinical and Translational Research.
Dr. Gami is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology. He is a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society. He is a peer reviewer for many journals, and is on the editorial boards for the journal Heart Rhythm Case Reports and the journal Chest. He is an author of textbook chapters in Braunwald’s Heart Disease: A Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine and Zipes’ Cardiac Electrophysiology: From Cell to Bedside, and over 60 peer-reviewed articles including New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, Heart Rhythm, and Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology.
Dr. Gami’s clinical interests include palpitations, fainting (syncope), supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation (AF), atrial flutter, premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), pacemakers, defibrillators (ICDs), biventricular pacemakers and defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy, cardiac ablation, cryoballoon ablation, laser ablation using endoscopic guidance, radiofrequency ablation, three-dimensional arrhythmia mapping, and intracardiac ultrasound. Dr. Gami is also recognized internationally for expertise in the relationships between sleep apnea, heart disease, and arrhythmias.
