Dr Shah knows his line of work like no other pain management doctor I have been to. It is almost like he feels your pain.
Dr. Anuj M. Shah, M.D. is a board-certified pain physician. His medical expertise stems from a blend of modern and traditional approaches that have provided him with a holistic philosophy toward treatment. He has done his medical school at Northwestern University followed by an anesthesiology residency at University of Michigan. After specializing in chronic pain at Duke University for his fellowship, he took a hospital-based job in North Carolina before eventually making his way back to the Midwest at OIO where he can be close to family.
As an interventional pain physician, Dr. Shah utilizes a patient-centric approach to his plan by always looking for the root cause of his patient’s pain so that together they can implement functional methods of healing that improve the patient’s quality of life. His best days are when he can offer an intervention that takes away someone's pain that creates a measurable improvement in that person's life, such as their relationship with others, mood, activity level, sleep patterns and intimacy with partners. He treats a variety of pain conditions including back and neck pain, sciatica, CRPS, joint pains and various other diseases. He specializes in injection therapy, neuromodulation, kyphoplasty, radiofrequency ablations, SI fusions and various other treatment options.
In his free time, he likes to foster animals (his wife is a veterinarian), hike, and watch television.
