The wait time was excessive. I’m concerned that staff entering the patient’s room did not show any form of handwashing or use of Purell before touching my mother’s eyes with ungloved hands. No sink in any area suggesting personnel washes their hands. Sink in the bathroom??Basic preventative measures always start with handwashing. I watched 3 different people navigate the computer mouse- no one wiped it before touching the mouse . From mouse to patient. I was not cool with that. No guarantee that the equipment gets disinfected between patients. Usually disinfected equipment is covered with sterile plastic to ensure that this process occurred. As a former RN it will always be my mission observing protocol for infectious disease prevention . You have Purell- use it Before touching a patient- use gloves if you are touching vulnerable patients eyes & not with your bare ungloved hands Let this be a teachable moment for a corrective action plan. Thank you for your attention to this matter. PJ
