Dr. Barañano obtained her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University where she discovered a love for the delicate and complex nature of ophthalmology. She later completed her residency and fellowship at Doheny Eye Institute, University of Southern California. She is an active researcher and has published a study on the use of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for patients with age-related macular degeneration. She has a special interest in uveitis and complex vitreoretinal surgery such as diabetic retinal detachments. Dr. Barañano received first place recognition as the “Best in Eye Surgery” in the Sun Herald’s 2023 Best of Coastal Mississippi Awards.
As an impassioned proponent of patient-centered care, Dr. Barañano values an active partnership with her patients. She strives to provide the highest quality care with compassion and dedication.
