Getting a colonoscopy for the first time can be nerve racking. Getting pushed into the surgical room was pretty scary, Dr. Sharma turned around and greeted me with the friendliest smile that instantly put me at ease. He asked about my life - career and family and the next thing I know I wake up in the recovery room. I did not feel discomfort with my body only drowsy from being put under. Overall, if you have a choice of which doctor to work with, choose Dr. Sharma!

The procedure went smoothly, and I have no complaints about Dr Sharma. But the process to get a scheduled appointment, and instructions to prep for the procedure were frustrating, and taxing.

It was 20 minutes after my appointment time and Dr. Sharma did not give me a chance to ask questions. He also did not call my spouse when the procedure was finished even though the Front Desk said he would. The only update I received after the procedure was from the recovery nurse who said it would be 3 weeks before the lab work came back. However, my discharge instructions said no biopsy or polyp removal was done so I assume there is no lab results that will be forthcoming.

I have been with the practice for over 10 years . I realize that biopsies taken during procedures have to go to a lab first,but it would be helpful if results were provided in a more timely fashion. .

No drama, procedure and timing was efficient, results posted were extremely timely.

The process was extremely efficient which I greatly appreciated. However, there was a discrepancy between the written orders I received for prepping for the procedure and what the pharmaceutical package said (clear liquid diet for the day before procedure vs low fiber diet on that day). I prepped over the weekend and the office was closed. It would be helpful if that could be clarified on the instructions from the office. IE if a low fiber diet is ok vs a clear liquid which is in the instructions from the pharmacy - they should note the discrepancy in the info pkt from the office and inform patients which they prefer the patient to follow. Otherwise - thank you for a seamless process.

He may want me to come back too often (no polyps - what is with the 5 yrs?), but I like him.

Dr Sharma was great. The nurse that put my IV in was a bit brash. I felt like I was being scolded. Also, I threw up the second part of my prep. This same nurse asked why I didn't call the office. I thought that there was nobody to call as it was the middle of the night. She said there was a way. Better upfront communication about this situation would have been very helpful prior to the prep.

I have been under Dr. Sharma’s care for 14 years and have always been very pleased with his care.

This was a first meeting with Dr. Sharma via telemedicine. He said what I needed to hear, answered questions and seemed genuinely concerned.

This was my second time having a colonoscopy with Dr. Sharma. My first was 10 years ago. Unfortunately I have more positive memories from 10 Years ago. In spite of asking numerous times for very minimal sedation it became clear that the doctor and nurses were choosing to do what would be easiest for them. (I know they will claim it was also safer for me). I have no recollection this time of the procedure at all. First time around I was awake and tolerated the procedure very well. I know that I had to wait quite awhile due to complications with a procedure in the room next door. I was told by someone, perhaps the Dr. That a polyp was removed. I had very little communication with anyone after my procedure. Most people were gone because it was after 5:30. I arrived at 3:00 for a 3:30 appointment. I got into my car the same time Dr. Sharma was getting into his.

My appointment was for an upper endoscopy . I don’t know if he thought the nurse already gave me the sedation medicine because when I told him what I had to do in order to swallow he belly laughed and said “I’m going to tell all my patients to do that to fix them”

With a history of colon cancer in my family, I was sent early for my first colonoscopy with Dr Sharma in 2008. I liked him. Then in 2017 I began to have GI symptoms. He diagnosed me with Lymphocytic Colitis, also IBS. Since then his communication about treatment and follow up have been horrible, I made an appt this year (phone only due to covid) and he suggested I take Align and Metamucil again after telling me to stop years earlier because it had not helped. He said "You have IBS, what do you want me to do?" .Then he said maybe the colitis is back, I will biopsy when I do your colonoscopy. He put in my chart that I had colitis that day, then never biopsied to check during my colonoscopy. Toll me to try gluten free for 2 weeks and call him.
