Dr. Watkins attributes her interest in ophthalmology to the inspirational mentors who sparked and fueled her passion. She loves the balance of time she spends in the operating room and in the clinic with her Montana patients, whom she calls kind, resilient and spirited people.
Dr. Watkins’ roots are in Montana. She grew up here, studied here and followed her passion to practice ophthalmology here. Upon returning to Montana after medical school, Dr. Watkins cared for Montana veterans as an ophthalmologist at the VA Clinic, where she also directed the implementation of Technology Based Eye Care Services for rural Montana veterans. Living and working in Bozeman, Dr. Watkins sees how dedicated her community is to the health and well-being of their friends and families; it’s a community that values raising their children in the outdoors, supporting others and caring for the land and wildlife.
