Dr. Andrew Malarkey, DO

As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Andrew Malarkey, D.O. specializes in shoulder and hand surgery. After medical school at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed his orthopedic residency here in the Dayton area. Dual-fellowship-trained, he pursued a hand fellowship under the direction of OASWO hand surgeons, and concluded his training with a shoulder and elbow fellowship with Dr. Jonathan Levy at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With specialty training in upper extremity, his primary interests include anatomic shoulder replacements, reverse shoulder replacements, and revision shoulder procedures. Additionally, he has a keen interest in patient-specific planning for shoulder replacement surgery. Using a preoperative 3D CT scan, Dr. Malarkey can individualize each patient’s care with a custom guide prior to even entering the operating room. He believes this provides the best outcomes for patients. Having grown up in the Dayton area, he is very excited to return home. He is honored to join OASWO, and to provide comprehensive upper extremity care to the people of the greater Dayton area.
