Dr. Gassman was kind, unhurried, and very reassuring about my upcoming reconstruction. A breast cancer diagnosis rocks you to the core and for me, reconstruction is a big step back to a normal life. Dr Gassman is sensitive to the physical and emotional impact breast cancer treatment has on a woman and his manner makes the process much more comfortable. He explained in great detail the various methods of breast reconstruction and detailed why some are better suited than others for women like me, who are post radiation. He explained exactly how he will perform my surgery, what the time in hospital will be, how long the recovery period will be, when the first revision generally happens, what cosmetic results I can expect, and what complications are possible (but unlikely). He inquired multiple times if I had questions. He and his staff deftly took me thru the somewhat embarrassing measurements and photos. I feel quite confident and even excited about my upcoming surgery.
