Andy joined Richmond Pediatrics in 2018. An avid student of history, he studied classics at the University of Virginia. In between college and medical school, he worked as both a teacher and a paramedic. Andy had the good fortune to complete both medical school and residency locally at Virginia Commonwealth University. While in school, he was particularly struck by the idea that the best way to love one's neighbor is to love their children; this naturally led to a career in pediatrics.

We had a brief encounter with Dr. Anderson. My daughter had to be seen for a rash. He was quick, kind, and made my daughter laugh/ feel comfortable when she was nervous. He took an extra minute at the end of the visit (this visit was also after 5pm) to engage with my daughter and make her smile. I really appreciated his simple interaction with her. Especially since my 2yr old is quite anxious about the doctors office.

Dr. Anderson and his wife have four wonderful, rambunctious children; he postulates this as the cause of his receding hairline. In his free time, he enjoys long distance running, reading, and meditation.
