My husband would, literally, not be alive today if it weren't for Dr. Ram. He caught that my husband's aortic valve needed to be replaced. Then, we spent a few years trying to figure out my husband's lightheadedness. After a number of different doctors and diagnoses, Dr. Ram did a simple test that determined that it was a spinal cord problem! But there was another problem, and Dr. Ram determined that my husband needed a pacemaker-his heart was stopping. Dr. Ram is such a good listener. And he's so easy to talk to. He gives you time. He takes in everything. He's a great diagnostician. And he cares.

I have heard horror stories before about patients happening to hear doctors&nurses talking about patients behind the patient's back in hospitals and health care facilities. Usually it's demeaning and shaming. I did hear Dr. Ramanathan talking about me (my hearing is especially good even with the door closed) with the nurse, and for a moment, I was afraid I was gonna have a horror story experience. I had nothing to be worried about, and I'm sorry I ever thought I would worry. Dr. Ramanathan was sincere and kind about my concerns I expressed in the visit, and he echoed back that sincerity and kindness about me to other people even when I was not present. I am grateful and I won't ever forget it.

Dr. Ramanathan is so smart, compassionate, and such a good listener. He looks at overall conditions to assess what is going on. He treats you as a team member. For example, after 3 years of trying to figure out my husband's dizziness, Dr. Ram listened when my husband said he needed to takes "baby steps" to get to a railing to grab it. Dr. Ram, then, simply had my husband stand up and close his eyes. My husband immediately almost fell over. Dr. Ram correctly diagnosed a neurological problem that 2 neurologists couldn't figure out. Dr. Ram is the best!
