Dr. Amy Tu, M.D., has been board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2004. She received her BS in structural engineering at the University of California, San Diego, her medical degree from Medical University of South Carolina in 1998, and then completed her residency at the University of Vermont in 2002. She worked at New York University Downtown Hospital as a teaching physician while her husband completed his fellowship in Pathology at Cornell University. After two years in New York City, she and her husband decided to move to the Pacific Northwest to raise their family. She practiced in Bellingham, Washington for five years prior to moving to Seattle when her husband joined Virginia Mason.
Dr. Tu performs general obstetrics and gynecology with special interests in hysteroscopy and minimally invasive surgery. She really enjoys her close relationships with her patients and feels privileged to be able to help women get the care they deserve and need. One of her favorite interests is helping women fix painful, heavy menses.
While not working, Dr. Tu enjoys being a mother to her three children, spending time with her husband, running her dog and snowboarding.
