Amy Bodart, DPM

Dr. Amy Bodart grew up in a small town in north-central Ohio, where she developed an early interest in science and language. She earned her degree in biology from St. Olaf College in Minnesota, where she also cultivated a lasting appreciation for Spanish. After graduation, she spent a year in Florida with AmeriCorps, serving as an assistant teacher for students with special needs—an experience that strengthened her commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Dr. Bodart returned to Ohio to earn her podiatric degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, followed by a three-year residency at Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami. There, she received training in trauma, podiatric medicine, and surgery, while further developing her Spanish fluency through daily communication with patients and care teams.

She remained in Florida for several years, working in wound care, contributing to resident education, and treating a wide range of conditions across clinical, surgical, and hospital settings. She later spent nearly a decade in El Paso, Texas, where she worked as part of a multidisciplinary limb-salvage team, deepening her expertise in wound care, amputation prevention, and geriatric podiatric medicine. During this time, she also began studying sign language to better communicate with Deaf patients.

Dr. Bodart is a board-certified podiatric physician with over 10 years of experience specializing in wound care, limb salvage, and diabetic and geriatric foot conditions. Her clinical interests include advanced wound management, debridement, offloading, infection control, and coordinated care to optimize outcomes and prevent amputation. She is fluent in Spanish and is committed to delivering culturally competent care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Bodart enjoys dance, having trained in ballet for 14 years and participating in international and Israeli folk dancing for nearly two decades. She also plays guitar, enjoys exploring new foods and cultures, and finds creative expression through pottery. An animal lover, she shares her home with two cats.
