Dr. Amabel Varghese, M.D., is a family medicine physician at Primary Health Partners who cares for patients of all ages through education, prevention, and personalized, shared decision-making. She believes meaningful healthcare begins with listening, by taking time to understand each patient’s concerns, goals, lifestyle, and the factors affecting their overall well-being.
Dr. Varghese is especially passionate about helping young adults build a foundation for lifelong health, supporting women through every stage of life, from PMS and perimenopause to post-menopause, as well as partnering with older adults to manage chronic conditions, maintain independence, and protect quality of life. Her approach is centered on helping patients understand the “why” behind their health concerns so they can feel informed, empowered, and actively involved in their care.
A native of Oklahoma City, Dr. Varghese earned her medical degree from Atlantic University School of Medicine in 2017 and completed her Family and Preventive Medicine residency through the University of Oklahoma. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Oklahoma Academy of Family Physicians, and the Worldwide Women’s Association.
Before becoming a physician, Dr. Varghese served in the U.S. Air Force Air National Guard for seven years. That experience shaped her appreciation for service, teamwork, accountability, and clear communication, values she carries into her work with patients and colleagues each day.
Dr. Varghese chose Direct Primary Care because it gives physicians and patients more time for the conversations that matter. She believes in ensuring patients understand the underlying issues and partnering with the patient to create a realistic step-by-step plan that fits the patient’s needs.
Her philosophy of care is simple: treat every patient as if they were family. She encourages patients to give themselves grace, take their health journey one day at a time, and start with one meaningful step forward.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Varghese enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, museums, outdoor activities, traveling, or checking out local businesses around town. She is a plant enthusiast, enjoys live music, sitting outside and enjoying a beautiful Oklahoma sunset, and entertaining her number one fan, a toy poodle named Sophie.
Dr. Varghese enjoys caring for patients of all ages, emphasizing education, prevention, and personalized care through shared decision-making. She believes meaningful healthcare begins with listening, understanding, and providing a supportive environment where patients can feel informed, empowered, and actively involved in improving their quality of life.
