Dr. Alyssa Hoverson

Dr. Alyssa Hoverson, M.D. is a Mayo-trained, board-certified dermatologist and board-certified Mohs micrographic surgeon with nearly 20 years of experience caring for patients of all ages. She provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and skin cancer care, with a commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based treatment tailored to each patient’s needs.

Originally from North Dakota, Dr. Hoverson is proud to continue serving her community. As the daughter of a farmer, she understands the unique skin health challenges faced by those who spend their lives working outdoors and is passionate about improving access to timely, expert dermatologic care throughout the region.

Dr. Hoverson has extensive experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin conditions, including skin cancer, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, and other complex dermatologic concerns. She specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery, the most precise and effective treatment for many skin cancers, and is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes while preserving healthy tissue.

In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Hoverson is committed to advancing the future of dermatology through education. She is excited to help teach and mentor future physicians through the new Tareen Department of Dermatology at the University of North Dakota.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hoverson is a proud mother of six and enjoys caring for patients at every stage of life—from children and teenagers to adults and seniors. She believes in building lasting relationships with her patients and partnering with them to help them achieve lifelong skin health.

Dr. Hoverson will begin providing services through Tareen Dermatology on or after September 12, 2026; she is not currently providing services through Tareen Dermatology.
