Could barely get a word in she kept saying she already knew what i was saying over and over, she got everything from the tech that had came in, i never said any thing to the tech, and could barely explain anything, except for my injury, she wouldnt listen to anything, felt like what i had to say didnt matter, she was talk8ng about sending to hand therapy, to a new place not where i had been going tryied to say i agreed with her because of issues with last hand therapist, tried to talked about ot, she said she was not send8ng me there either, i agreed.. then i asked if.i should continue with the ot im already going to because i already had 6 visit left, then she said you like them, i will send a request for them, they are not a hand therapy, i just wanted to know if i need to continue with what was already approved and then go to hand therapy also it never got to that she was done with and that was it.. i did get an injection i hope that helps..

Very nice Dr. Extremely informative, very polite, very helpful and friendly staff.
I'm glad I went to her. She did give me a ouchie shoot for my tigger finger.

Dr. Alicia F. Cowan, M.D. is fellowship trained specialist in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery. Dr. Cowan loves her job because she is able to give form and function back to patients. She specializes in comprehensive treatment of hand and arm pain, tailoring treatment to each patient's special needs. Dr. Cowan has experience in adults and children, and is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Cowan began her career at Fordham University in New York City, where she received a Bachelor of Arts. She continued on to medical school at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Cowan, known previously as Dr. Worden, completed her surgical internship at University of California, San Francisco, followed by orthopedic surgery residency at Saint Louis University in Missouri. She pursued additional fellowship training in specialized hand and microvascular at the University of Miami in Florida.
She has a passion for medical mission work and pursued opportunities to volunteer in each phase of her training. Her prior trips include Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, and Malawi. Dr. Cowan plans to continue her volunteerism in the future on other international surgical hand missions. During her free time, she likes to relax surfside at the many beautiful local beaches, travel to foreign countries, and paddleboard.
She is originally from Connecticut and has traveled the country for her training, but fell in love with Florida and decided to stay. Dr. Cowan is happily practicing in Fort Myers supported by her family and dog, Bruno. Dr. Cowan cares for her patients by taking the time to explain diagnoses and treatment plans to obtain the best functional outcomes for her patients.
