I love Dr. Hess. Would not let any other upper limb physician touch my hands, arms, or shoulders. Have been his patient for 28 years.

Good listener. After my physical exam, he quickly diagnosed my injury. Just wish I could get into the EMG nerve test sooner than one month. Either way, glad to be under Dr. Hess’s care.

He doesn’t speak much on his own upon visit, but will briefly summarize and answer question if asked. Visit lasted 5 min as I checked clock, X-rays were not ordered accurately and made me walk 2 times with torn tendon in ankle and no AD due to this error.

Dr Hess addressed my concerns directly and took the time to listen to my questions. He talked WITH me about what WE are going to do, not what HE was telling me to do. It was refreshing to be involved in the decision. His background in the field speaks for itself and he definitely brought that expertise to the table. Made the decision easy and went a long way to build the trust to follow his recommendations through this whole process down to the end where I hope I will regain most if not all of the use of my shoulder without pain.

I never saw Dr Hess. His physician assistant was fine, thus the okay rating, but I had questions for Dr Hess. I’m a returning patient of Florida Orthopedic so I was a bit surprised when Dr Hess couldn’t come in to meet me. Going forward, I would probably request a different doctor.

In addition to being an excellent Ortopedic professional, Dr Hess as a way of putting the patient at ease and explaining the patients issues in a way that the patient can understand. I feel confident in his care and would always go to him for any problems I have that are in his area of expertise.

He was understandably compassionate! Love his bedside manner & taking time to explain the importance of wellness!

Dr Hess was a concerned practitioner. He took the time to explain what I need to do in order to get my shoulder to heal and explained my options and alternate medications. I’ve heard that surgeons do not have a good bedside manner but this is not the case with Dr. Hess. He also has a sense of humor which helps a new patient like myself feel more comfortable talking about my health issues.
