Doctor Bounkhong is very thorough, explains what she is doing and tells the patient what is happening to their eye. She will answer any questions a patient has in terms that the patient will understand.

She worked extensively in the optometric profession for over 18 years where she held positions as an optician, optical lab coordinator, optometric technician, and eventually as an Optometrist. Dr. Bounkhong has been practicing in the Denver Metro Area for 4 years and is excited to be an addition to ICON Eyecare’s team of doctors.
Dr. Bounkhong joined the world of optometry after being diagnosed with amblyopia as a child. She has a passion for primary eye care with an emphasis on ocular disease and surgical co-management.
Prior to joining ICON, Dr. Bounkhong worked in various ophthalmology clinics managing cases in ocular disease, LASIK, Cataract, Corneal Transplant, and many other procedures. She has diversified her knowledge of ocular disease management while traveling the United States during her clinical rotations at Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, Sheppard Air Force Base, and private practices in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Florida. Dr. Bounkhong relocated to Colorado 4 years ago and quickly fell in love with our beautiful scenery. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Bounkhong enjoys exploring the beautiful state of Colorado, the diverse Denver food scene, and of course, shopping!
