Dr. Alexander Carrese, DO is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician with a focus on Interventional Spine, Musculoskeletal, Pain and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
Dr. Carrese has a true passion for rehabilitation medicine and restoring movement and function to his patients in order to help with daily activities. He plans to take a multimodal approach to treating patients with his primary focus on spine and musculoskeletal treatments. He is also well trained in Electrodiagnostic medicine (EDX) that will help aid in the diagnosis and treatment of many conditions. During residency training, he spent one month at the University of Lusaka in Zambia, Africa training other individuals in EDX studies as well as treating the local community.
Dr. Carrese grew up in the New Haven, CT area and is excited to return home. He completed his Bachelors of Science from Union College (Schenectady, NY) in 2008. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine (Buies Creek, NC) in 2017.
He then completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from Michigan State University in 2021 where he served as Chief Resident (2020-2021). He is currently completing a Fellowship in Interventional Spine, Musculoskeletal and Pain Medicine at Comprehensive Pain Specialists-Michigan State University in Flint, MI. In his free time, Dr. Carrese loves to spend time with family, watch sports, exercise, spend time at the beach surfing and cooking.
every time I go to Dr Carrese Office it is a great experience. I think he's wonderful.. also I love the staff at work all over that office. They are all so helpful and thoughtful. I don't know if this is a place to put it as I do not know where else to put it, but I'd like to bring attention, to the door Use the office into the waiting room.. I have seen so many elderly women struggle and I sit there feeling helpless. It hurts get up too quick most times somebody else open the door for them, but I have mentioned in the past they need to put an automatic door. I mean, if you think about the patients that come there most of us have back problems I struggle leaving my walker to stay standing and open their door. Thank you so much.
Dr. Carrese is incredibly compassionate and truly listens. Living with chronic pain can be overwhelming, but they made me feel heard, validated, and cared for from day one. Dr. Carrese and his personnel are amazing. I strongly recommend Dr. Carrese.
