Dr. Marr is one of the only fellowship trained foot and ankle specialists in the area to be trained in total ankle replacement surgery for patients with arthritis of the ankle. Total ankle replacement surgery may offer select patients many of the same benefits as total joint replacement of the hip and shoulder. Dr. Marr uses both the Prophecy INBONE Total Ankle System and the STAR™ ankle technology. He has a particular interest in injuries of the foot and ankle, total ankle replacement, sports medicine and general orthopedic surgery.
As a dedicated distance runner and a foot and ankle specialist, Dr. Marr understands the risks and injuries many runners contend with and the importance of approaches to keep athletes up and running. Most recently, Dr. Marr competed in the 2018 Boston Marathon where he ran the 26.2 mile course in 3 hours, 19 minutes and 7 seconds!
Dr. Marr is affiliated and performs inpatient and outpatient orthopedic surgery at Novant Health. He is an owner in the Brunswick Surgery Center, LLC where he performs outpatient orthopedic surgery.

2 hours late and then asked me rudely “can she talk” about my teenage daughter. Why yes she can but I am paying for this appt and I have questions, not her. This was a follow up appt and all the previous notes were not reviewed and all of the same questions asked over with no knowledge of what was going on
Dr Marr is very easy to talk to and thorough.

Dr Marr is the best All the confidence in the world with him as my doctor
Very helpful in explaining my options for my ankle. Dr Marr is also very knowledgeable about rheumatoid arthritis (which I have) and explained how that was affecting the tendon in my ankle.
Very personable and takes his time to discuss options and outcomes.
