Dr. Marr is one of the only fellowship trained foot and ankle specialists in the area to be trained in total ankle replacement surgery for patients with arthritis of the ankle. Total ankle replacement surgery may offer select patients many of the same benefits as total joint replacement of the hip and shoulder. Dr. Marr uses both the Prophecy INBONE Total Ankle System and the STAR™ ankle technology. He has a particular interest in injuries of the foot and ankle, total ankle replacement, sports medicine and general orthopedic surgery.
As a dedicated distance runner and a foot and ankle specialist, Dr. Marr understands the risks and injuries many runners contend with and the importance of approaches to keep athletes up and running. Most recently, Dr. Marr competed in the 2018 Boston Marathon where he ran the 26.2 mile course in 3 hours, 19 minutes and 7 seconds!
Dr. Marr is affiliated and performs inpatient and outpatient orthopedic surgery at Novant Health. He is an owner in the Brunswick Surgery Center, LLC where he performs outpatient orthopedic surgery.

Excellent service.
Dr. Marr is the best! I travel two hours there and two hours back to have him care for me, and it is worth every minute. This is the second time he has helped me with what , to me, was a serious problem. I was off my feet and in pain for four months while trying different doctors in my area. I should have gone straight to Dr. Marr in the first place. . Best there is!

Dr. Marr took his time with me, I didn't feel rushed or that my issues were not important to him. He did not pressure me to make a decision for surgery, however explained my options.
