Dr. Alan Tuckman comes to Lancaster from New York. He received his M.D. degree from the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse, where he also completed his internship and residency. Dr. Tuckman completed his orthopedic surgery training at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and received his foot and ankle fellowship training at The Emory Clinic in Atlanta.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Tuckman is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, the Pennsylvania Orthopedic Society and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Tuckman is a clinical instructor for the S.T.A.R. Total Ankle Replacement. He has been performing ankle replacements for 15 years and utilizing the S.T.A.R. Ankle in his practice since the summer of 2009 when this device was approved by the FDA for use in the USA after a lengthy clinical study.
Dr. Tuckman’s special interests are in disorders of the foot and ankle as well as total ankle replacement. He also has a special interest in dance injuries and has been an orthopedic consultant for the Atlanta Ballet and the Berks Ballet.

Very nice Doctor
Good guy.
Dr. Tuckman has done my left ankle replacement and also de some infusion on my right ankle, but now a need and ankle replacement on my right leg. Hopefully I'll be OK.
Dr Tuckman is very knowledgeable, and personable. Very good doctor to be seen by.
Took time in follow up to look into issues with my recovery
Dr Tuckman was excellent! I’m really grateful for his time and concern for my foot pain! He listened fully, and explained very clearly my option. He was very kind, had a nice smile and was patient with my questions!
I have only met with him once and the experience was positive. He was pleasant and knowledgeable.
I wholeheartedly trust Dr. Tuckman with my orthopedic care. Dr. Tuckman is extremely knowledgeable and was able to diagnose me correctly after going through 4 doctors that gave me incorrect diagnoses. I could not thank him enough. He and is PA have terrific bedside manor with clear communication and next steps.
Very professional, cares about and listens to what your concerns are ,and focuses on you . So glad to have found him ,would highly recommend anyone that needs ankle or foot to see him.
