She is passionate about providing quality care to her patients and helping them achieve their best possible vision. Adria sees patients in Ocala at Ocala Eye’s Heath Brook office.
Dr. Adria Young is an Ocala native, having lived in the area since she was a kid. She went to North Marion High School and then received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. After college, Dr. Adria Young earned her Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. She then went on to complete a postdoctoral residency at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, providing veterans with comprehensive eye exams to diagnose ocular diseases and disorders, and specialty eye exams for low vision and contact lens prescription and fitting.
Dr. Young completed an internship with honors in Pediatrics and a six-month externship with honors in Ocular Disease at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center. She is also certified in Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) to help correct myopia in children. She has worked directly with cornea, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, retina and uveitis specialists, and presented and published papers on such varying subjects as diagnostic testing for early glaucoma, ischemic optic neuropathy, and many others.
Whenever possible, Dr. Young volunteers at the Special Olympics, the Walk for Autism, and other community organizations. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, working out, and playing with her two dogs.
It was my first time seeing her. She was everything I expect when I come to Ocala Eye . Evidently , you only hire the Best . Her assistant was wonderful too.
