Dr. Walters was born in Naples, Florida and attended the University of Florida where she received her BS in Microbiology with minors in Health Disparities and Business Administration, and then received her MS in Medicinal Microbiology. She then continued her education at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. There she was an active member in the American Optometric Student Association, National Optometric Student Association and Beta Sigma Kappa.
Dr. Walters is currently a member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
