Dr. Adam Sweeney specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids and face. Dr. Sweeney earned his Medical Degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He then completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington, where he stayed to complete his residency in ophthalmology.
Dr. Sweeney was selected for an additional two years of specialized training in oculofacial, orbital, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery at Baylor College of Medicine where he trained at the renowned Cullen Eye Institute.
Dr. Sweeney has completed training in pediatric oculoplastic surgery at the nationally-ranked Texas Children’s Hospital and has trained in reconstructive surgery at the #1 ranked cancer institute—MD Anderson Cancer Center. He has also spent significant time working with patients at Veteran’s hospitals across the country.
Dr. Sweeney is one of only 800 members of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). He has lectured at several national oculoplastic conferences, has published extensively in medical journals, and has written numerous book chapters on eyelid, orbital, and tear drainage surgery. While enjoying treating patients for all types of oculoplastic disease, Dr. Sweeney has particular interests in cosmetic upper and lower eyelid surgery, eyelid reconstruction following removal of skin cancer, tear drain obstruction, thyroid eye disease, and non-surgical facial rejuvenation.
With his free time, Dr. Sweeney enjoys running, hiking, camping, snorkeling, golfing, and playing tennis. He is an avid photographer and enjoys never passes up an opportunity to travel abroad. Dr. Sweeney plays piano, guitar, and ukulele and is looking forward to finding the right band in need.
