Dr. Adam Pearlman is a graduate of Tufts University and Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency in the Emory University Health Care System, then served as Chief Medical Resident at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. During his Nephrology fellowship at Georgetown University he received the Lewis T. Preston Research Achievement Award and the Paul R. Wilner Fellow of the Year Award. He serves on the Medical Advisory Board for the National Kidney Foundation. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, he joined Metropolitan Nephrology Associates in 2006. Within his study of nephrology, his interests include acute and chronic kidney disease, transplant nephrology, critical care nephrology, hypertension, diabetes, polycystic kidney disease, acid-base and electrolyte abnormalities, home and in-center hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. He has delivered medical grand rounds in the Inova and MedSTAR systems on topics including nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, and hypertensive crisis. In his free time, he enjoys coaching his two children in baseball and basketball and is an avid runner.

What stands out most is his willingness to listen—he never rushes the conversation and makes sure every question is answered with patience and care. You leave the appointment feeling informed, reassured, and confident in the plan moving forward. It’s not often you find a doctor who is both highly knowledgeable and so approachable. Dr. Pearlman truly goes above and beyond for his patients, and I would recommend him without hesitation.
