When Dr. Adam F. Novack, M.D., was in third grade, he and his family packed up and moved from Brooklyn, NY to Savannah, GA. Now Dr. Novack’s family has deep roots in Savannah, and Dr. Novack couldn’t imagine living and working anywhere else.
Family has always been important to Dr. Novack. As a child, he grew up watching his father work as a physician in the Savannah area. For 30 years, Dr. Novack’s father showed his son what dedication and hard work looked like, drawing Dr. Novack to work in the medical field even at a young age.
After receiving his bachelor’s in Business Administration at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, Dr. Novack then went on to obtain his doctor of medicine degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine based in the Netherlands. Dr. Novack finished up his education by completing his residency at the Louisiana State University System in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Even though he received his education outside of Savannah, Dr. Novack’s vision for himself was always to work in Savannah and to focus on family medicine.
“With family medicine, you never know what’s going to come through the door,” Dr. Novack explained. “It keeps you on your toes, and no two days are the same.”
Thanks to all the wonderful patients he sees, Dr. Novack stays pretty busy, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“My favorite part of what I do is helping my patients,” Dr. Novack said. “I know that’s something a lot of doctors say, but it’s so rewarding to me that I can make a difference in somebody’s life by preventing a catastrophic disease or encouraging them to make a lifestyle choice that makes all of the difference. It’s the greatest feeling.”
When Dr. Novack isn’t busy at work, he is spending time with his two-year-old son, wife, and their extended family in the Savannah area.
