Made my experience as pleasant as possible.
I found Dr. Shaheen’s bedside manner unappealing. In my experience, she lacked warmth and reassurance, which was crucial for someone anxious about the procedure. The entire experience felt transactional, and she left immediately after the procedure was complete. The initial banding placement was unsuccessful and extremely painful. Consequently, she had to restart and try again, which is understandable, but it was incredibly uncomfortable for the patient. Personally, I would have appreciated her being more vocal and explaining each step of the procedure, both before, during, and after the procedure, as she usually does during a standard pelvic exam. I believe this level of care should be consistent for procedures involving the pelvic area, given the expertise required.
