BIO Dr. Aaron Dickens is a Reno native and McQueen High School graduate. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University where he was a scholarship soccer athlete then returned to his hometown to attend the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. Dickens completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at the University of New Mexico and received additional training in orthopaedic traumatology at the University of California San Diego.
Dr. Dickens has definitely found his niche as an orthopaedic trauma surgeon. He feels fortunate to have the ability and the opportunity to care for and enhance the function and rehabilitation of patients with complex orthopaedic injuries. Dr. Dickens takes pride in his meticulous approach to fracture care and strives to provide the best possible outcome for every patient.
Because of their deep roots in the community, Dr. Dickens and his wife (also a physician and Reno native) always planned to return to their hometown to practice medicine and raise their family. With Great Basin Orthopaedics, Dr. Dickens has found a group of like-minded physicians who are not only committed to a patient-first approach, but to providing high-quality orthopaedic care while raising families and serving their community in meaningful ways.
When not caring for patients, this family man enjoys spending time with his wife, two young sons and extended family while taking advantage of the limitless outdoor recreational opportunities the Reno/Tahoe area has to offer. He very much enjoys reconnecting with old friends on the soccer field and finds woodworking to be a creative outlet requiring adept skill, a steady hand and precise execution – much like surgery. He continues to pursue this interest in the workshop that he built with his father-in-law.
