Dr. A. Rebecca Meekins, M.D., is a dedicated Urogynecologist at Virginia Urology who specializes exclusively in female pelvic floor disorders and reconstructive surgery. Grown up in Durham, North Carolina, Dr. Meekins brings comprehensive clinical expertise and a compassionate approach to restoring pelvic health and improving the daily quality of life for women.
Dr. Meekins completed her undergraduate studies in Neuroscience at Middlebury College in Vermont before earning her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the Duke University School of Medicine. She continued her advanced medical training at Duke University Medical Center, completing a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology followed by a rigorous three-year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.
In her practice, Dr. Meekins provides comprehensive medical and surgical management for complex pelvic floor conditions, including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, overactive bladder, and postpartum pelvic floor trauma. Utilizing advanced therapies such as sacral neuromodulation (InterStim™/Axonics®), Botox® injections, and urethral bulking, she collaborates with each patient to design individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that support long-term wellness.
