Surgeries performed by Dr. Lindsay include: general orthopedic fracture care (broken bones in the arms or legs), as well as a variety of spine procedures, including discectomy, laminectomy, spinal fusions, cervical disc arthroplasty, cervical laminoplasty, and fracture stabilization and treatment. His special interest is in minimally invasive techniques, including microlaminectomy and microdiscectomy, as well as minimally invasive CT navigated fusion surgery, which use smaller incisions to still effectively treat the sources of pain in the spine.
Asheville is Dr. Lindsay’s hometown, though he has been away for 15 years prior to joining EmergeOrtho. He attended Virginia Tech for his undergraduate degree where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biological Sciences. He received his M.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, and completed his orthopedic residency training in the historic University of Iowa Department of Orthopedics. After residency, he received additional training and experience in spine surgery at the University of Wisconsin Spine Surgery Fellowship, where he learned a variety of techniques from national and international leaders in the field. He is excited to be back home in the mountains of Western North Carolina, and in his free time enjoys hiking, biking, and being outdoors with his family.
He practices at EmergeOrtho’s South Asheville location, and operates at AdventHealth Hendersonville Hospital where he is the Medical Director of the Spine Center of Excellence, and also holds privileges at Pardee Hospital and Western Carolina Surgery Center.

Kind. Takes his time with you. Answers all questions and explains. Highly recommend him.
He seemed to have his own agenda and I don’t feel as though he listened to my concerns. I was not very happy after my visit because he really didn’t offer me any advice after informing me that I didn’t need back surgery.
He listens to his patience.
Informative and answered all my questions
dr. Lindsay listened to my complaints, injected some Cortizone into a suspected bursa and I checked out. He is very adapt and easy to talk to.
Very disappointed. Very dismissive of my complaints and concerns. My young age was constantly brought up and I was too young for back surgery. I have been fighting back trouble for over 20 years trying to avoid surgery. It’s not the age, it’s the mileage! What ever happened to helping a patient gain some quality of life back and less pain, no matter their age. After multiple Dr visits this week, came here feeling hopeful for some relief….that feeling left quickly after talking with him.
He was thorough and informed me of his impressions and suggestions going forward. I would recommend him highly. The wait time was excessive, a half hour in the waiting room and another half hour in the exam room. Unusual for this practice. Also, we should not be asked to arrive a half hour early if we already checked in online.
Courteous, respectable of time, knowledgeable.
Very professional and explained things so I could understand.
Outstanding Dr. listened carefully. Fully explained options and made recommendations based on his observations. I feel I am in good hands with Dr Linsey!
