Dr. Charles Land is Board Eligible by The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His specialty is surgical and non-surgical care of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine including degenerative spinal conditions, lumbar and cervical stenosis, disc herniations, minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal trauma, and kyphoplasty. He sees patients in the Marietta and Woodstock offices.
Dr. Land received his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, GA. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. There he had direct participation in the management, prevention, and treatment of surgical disorders of the musculoskeletal system. He then completed an Orthopaedic Spine Surgery Fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to receiving his medical degree, Dr. Land received his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Georgia in Athens. Dr. Land has received many academic awards. While at The University of Georgia, he was a member of the Dean's List and a 4 year HOPE scholar. During his residency, he received the Traveling AAOS Satcher Fellow Junior Resident Award as well as the Resident Research Award.
Dr. Land is a published author in both national and international orthopaedic and spine surgery journals and is a speaker on various orthopaedic topics including cervical myelopathy, spinal and extremity trauma, lateral access lumbar spine surgery, and venous thromboembolism prophylaxis. During his fellowship, Dr. Land coauthored a number of articles on spinal deformity surgery in the elderly, minimizing the use of opioids for spine surgery, and patient activation following adult deformity surgery. He is also a reviewer for Global Spine Journal.
Dr. Land has previously volunteered with AIDS Athens and Relay for Life as well as the Big Sib Program at Mercer University School of Medicine. He was also a member of the University of Georgia Redcoat Marching Band.
Dr. Land lives in Woodstock with his wife and children. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and rooting on the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, and the University of Georgia.

Dr. Land is just a cool guy. I love the straight shooter in him and love his confidence. Dr. Land, even though my anesthesia hasn’t worn off, the immediate pain and numbness of my R neck, shoulder, and arm was indeed immediately gone upon wake up and I almost crushed Sally’s hand when she tested my strength n the R. I could not be more happy with my decision to get this surgery, I just wished I didn’t waste time doing PT and a failed epidural. Thanks to your staff as I was upset several times during my time there. My mood completely lifted as soon as I got home. My throat is starting to get sore, but I’ll take that any day over what I dealt with for 3 long months. Thank you and your staff so much!! I know who’s doing my next ACDF surgery in the future! 😉
