Originally from Albany, Georgia, Dr. Edward King, M.D., received an A.B in biochemistry from Dartmouth College and an M.D. from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed a urology residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore and has practiced in Ocala and The Villages, Florida since 1996. Dr. King is a past president of the Marion County Medical Society and a former Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the Ocala Regional Medical Center. He has held numerous leadership positions at the Munroe Regional Medical Center (now Advent Health Ocala) including Chief of the hospital’s medical staff and vice-chairman of the Munroe Medical Center Board of Directors.

Dr King is a current member of the Board of Directors of both the Florida Urological Society and the Florida Medical Association, and is an Assistant Professor of Urology at the University Of Central Florida College Of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a diplomate of the American Board of Urology. Dr. King’s practice interests include laparoscopic and robotic surgery of the prostate and kidney.
