Raquel Durban is a registered dietitian specializing in the dietary management of families with food allergies. She received her MS degree in nutrition from the University of Maryland and completed a nutrition internship at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
As a recognized authority on the dietary and nutritional management of food allergies, Raquel is a frequently invited speaker at allergy and immunology conferences and has the pleasure of precepting dietetic interns. She has contributed her expertise to peer reviewed publications and continuing education programs.
Raquel is a steering committee member and co-chairs the internship program of the International Network of Dietitians and Nutritionists in Allergy and serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the International Association for Food Protein Enterocolitis. She plays an active role in the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI). She serves on the organizations’ numerous committees, collaborating with other health care professionals and patient advocacy groups to improve the quality of life and advance understanding for families living with the challenges of food allergies.
From pediatric weight gains and losses to restricted diets for food allergy and disease management, Raquel does not believe there is a one size fits all answer for success. She will work to find the best balance of meeting nutritional needs with lifestyle demands and ensure collaboration with other members of the care team.

She’s was very informative and attentive
Raquel talked through my dietary complications and limitations with me , and showed genuine care in the experience I was having trying to feel successfully in supporting my immune health while trying to eliminate pain and discomfort. Having multiple conditions that have extremely limited my diet, eating had become a source of anxiety and panic, with her help I feel like I have a plan of how to safely expand my options without adding back in foods that cause me harm.
It was a pleasure to work with Raquel regarding my dietary restrictions. I am looking forward to implementing her suggestions and reporting back
Absolutely amazing! Very detailed and down to earth ! My husband and I drive 2 hours away and it was worth it !
She helped me figure out what nutritional needs my son needs and options he has. I was heart broken that he has failure to thrive. This has been a long journey for us since he began solid foods. The referrals take so long to be seen by a professional to get my son the hep he needs. There are still so many unanswered questions to my sons helath. Since his stomach problems are so intricate it took a while for Raquel and I to finally be on the right page. She was nice and professional but sometimes I felt like I was the teenager and she the Mom. I hope she saw I am a Mom trying to get the help my son, protecting him and getting him the help he needs to thrive
I appreciated her easy going style while getting her point across to my wife who is in memory care. She is eating more and hopefully that will continue which will improve her health.
Raquel is an amazing clinician. She listens very intently. I feel blessed to have met her.
