Megan Coleman, MSW, is a social worker dedicated to improving the mental health and overall well-being of the people she serves. Megan received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Plymouth State University. Following her graduation, she began working in a residential treatment facility for adolescent boys with complex trauma and behavioral issues. During this time, she pursued her Master’s in Social Work from the University of New England. Megan’s time in residential treatment made her realize the importance of looking at the individual holistically, as she was able to witness firsthand the effects one’s mental health can have on their day-to-day life. Though she is open to working with people of all ages, this early experience in the field highlighted her passion for working with adolescents and young adults.
Megan likes to look at life from a bird’s-eye view, rooting her practice in the Person-in-Environment theory. Megan considers all factors that contribute to the whole picture of one’s life when working with clients. She brings a calm, inquisitive, and collaborative energy to her sessions. She believes in resiliency and tapping into the strengths that already exist in one’s life to build upon them from there. In her free time, she enjoys consuming all things pop culture, tending to her houseplant collection, enjoying time in the beautiful Lakes Region, and most of all, spending time with her cats.
