In 1993, Dr. Douglas Martini joined Cary Orthopaedics as a sports medicine expert.
With a plethora of experience, Dr. Martini brought his extensive training and practice to the Triangle. He served as the Team Physician for the Carolina Hurricanes NHL hockey team from 2003 to 2006, including when they won the Stanley Cup. Before that, he served as the Team Physician for Campbell University and still acts as the Team Physician at Shaw University today. He is also the orthopaedic physician for Meredith College.
Dr. Martini attended The College of William and Mary for undergrad, the University of Virginia for medical school and completed his residency in Boston at the Boston University Affiliated Hospitals.
He is fulfilled by helping his patients get back to active and healthy lifestyles. Dr. Martini does everything possible to give patients information, so they can make informed decisions about their health.

The best doctor for patient cate
Started PT way too early despite requesting to postpone, and that led to bleeding into joint. Joint shut down quads and we had to immobilize for 2 months. Solid doctor, but, they try to do PT too fast after surgery. Please give patients some time before starting PT after a surgery.
Always kind, caring , professional, knowledgeable and highly oriented to patient care.

Excellent care as always. Really listens, cares about the whole patient, does what is best for this patient. Has been my orthopedist since 2007, through multiple surgeries and nonsurgical injuries. As a veterinarian that performs orthopedic surgeries, I'm impressed, haven't used anyone else since .

I've had Dr. Martini as my ortho doctor since like for...ever and I trust and value his diagnosis and treatment plans --- 100% I've also been treated by Kevin for the past several years and he is a top notch Dr. that I also value for is knowledge of my problems.
For 15 years Dr. Martini has been my doctor. He is, by far, one of the best doctors I've ever had in my life, combining his skills at diagnosing and treatment with a big dose of very friendly bedside manner. Kevin Morrison, his PA, is another favorite.
The BEst ORTHOPEDIC IN THE RDU AREA. HE has done a knee surgery on my husband & 2 shoulder surgeries on opposites shoulder’s on my husband. He has seen me twice for my 2 knees. He is so jovial and nice. A very wonderful Surgeon!
