Dr. Wessels graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York with a B.S. in Biology and Sociology. He went on to attend Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Wessels then completed six years of General Surgery Residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He later pursued further specialty training with a one-year Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando.

While trained and proficient in all aspects of the specialty of colon and rectal surgery, Dr. Wessels focuses on the medical and surgical management of anal and rectal conditions as well as colonoscopy.
Dr. Wessels is an active member of The Piedmont Colon and Rectal Surgery Society, E.R. Woodward Surgical Society, The North Carolina Medical Society and the North Carolina Chapter of The American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Wessels was born in Manhasset, NY. He and his wife, Melissa, have two sons. In his spare time, Dr. Wessels enjoys physical fitness, coaching little league baseball and participating in all sports with his children.

Frank was both condescending and impatient, and left the room while I was still talking with him. I was so confused I asked him if I offended him, and he said no, we had already hit the high points, so he wanted the nurse (who had not examined me) to answer any of my remaining questions. Frank must have been having a bad day, because when I told the nurse about my experience, she apologized and said she would try and help me get seen by Dr Seleeby.
Dr. Wessels was friendly and helpful in explaining what might be causing my problem and how to treat it.
